Government and politics are a filler between elections, and election seasons get longer as time passes. We elect a president, and before he takes the oath, attention is already focused on whether he can win reelection, have a successor prepared to carry on, or whether the other side can regain the White House. The presidency is now divided into two parts: the first half to accomplish your agenda, the second half to hold off the opposition, and all eyes are on the next general election. It makes you wonder how anything gets done, but truthfully, little does except spending exorbitant amounts of our money.
Today, the Democrats are in total flux. If the Trump administration has success, the Democrats will need to shift towards the center, and if Trump’s plans fail, the Democrats can continue drifting left. The DNC is fully committed to primarying their older members in either case and they will burn a lot of capital in the process. After Kamala Harris blew over $1 billion of donations, the DNC may have to set their sites on a smaller budget. Hillary and Kamala have shown that you cannot buy the Oval Office, and donors may be reluctant to throw away cash in 2028.
The general is always in sight, but we must be razor-focused on the midterms. Should we lose the house, the Democrats will go from Lawfare to Impeach mode in a New York second. Hearings will begin, the legislature will stop, and Trump will become a lame duck. The second term will be wasted. We need to prevent that, and certain things must change immediately.
The Democrat’s approval rating is at its lowest in forty years (25% Approve). We must keep them on the mat and let them self-destruct by speaking out on policies that 80% of the country agree. We can keep the majority if we stop the foolish rhetoric, stick to the plan, and get enough done for the country that even Tampon Tim will take a seat and be quiet. Let Sandy and Bernie tour the country with their forty year-old socialist message. It helps to make sure they do not escape the hold.
