Is It Time To Start Thinking Midterms?

Government and politics are a filler between elections, and election seasons get longer as time passes. We elect a president, and before he takes the oath, attention is already focused on whether he can win reelection, have a successor prepared to carry on, or whether the other side can regain the White House. The presidency is now divided into two parts: the first half to accomplish your agenda, the second half to hold off the opposition, and all eyes are on the next general election. It makes you wonder how anything gets done, but truthfully, little does except spending exorbitant amounts of our money.

Today, the Democrats are in total flux. If the Trump administration has success, the Democrats will need to shift towards the center, and if Trump’s plans fail, the Democrats can continue drifting left. The DNC is fully committed to primarying their older members in either case and they will burn a lot of capital in the process. After Kamala Harris blew over $1 billion of donations, the DNC may have to set their sites on a smaller budget. Hillary and Kamala have shown that you cannot buy the Oval Office, and donors may be reluctant to throw away cash in 2028.

The general is always in sight, but we must be razor-focused on the midterms. Should we lose the house, the Democrats will go from Lawfare to Impeach mode in a New York second. Hearings will begin, the legislature will stop, and Trump will become a lame duck. The second term will be wasted. We need to prevent that, and certain things must change immediately.

  1. The Tariffs must work. The inconsistency in the implementation of the tariffs, from rates to exclusions, has to stop. The lack of stability in messaging and results is driving the market down, and although most economic indicators are still good, people are watching the markets. They do not understand them, but they know Red is not a good color when talking about the value of the market.
  2. The administration has to continue its media campaign. Trump answers questions daily, and Karoline owns the podium, which is key to getting our message out. MSM would never report positive results if they were not forced to cover Trump daily.
  3. We must get these two wars under control. We need the mineral deal with Ukraine and must immediately get both parties to the table. We must eliminate Hamas, have a good resolution for the people of Gaza, make sure Iran does not go nuclear, and pray like the Dickens when we can have a lasting ceasefire.
  4. Somebody has to face the consequences of DOGE’s work. Stacy Abrams would be the perfect scapegoat, but it must look anything but retalitory.
  5. The leaks and mistakes have to stop. We need to tighten up especially in the Pentagon. Secretary Hegseth has been under the microscope since before his hearings, and he has to start being qualified. Even small mistakes are ample fodder for the Democrats and, certainly, the media, who live for mistakes to pounce on.

The Democrat’s approval rating is at its lowest in forty years (25% Approve). We must keep them on the mat and let them self-destruct by speaking out on policies that 80% of the country agree. We can keep the majority if we stop the foolish rhetoric, stick to the plan, and get enough done for the country that even Tampon Tim will take a seat and be quiet. Let Sandy and Bernie tour the country with their forty year-old socialist message. It helps to make sure they do not escape the hold.
