Anti-Trump Protesters Scream ‘Abolish The Police’ As Cops Assist Their March Through DC

Several “No Kings” protesters chanted anti-police slogans Saturday while uniformed officers could be seen ushering their march through the streets of Washington, video footage by the Daily Caller News Foundation shows.

Thousands of demonstrators flocked to the nation’s capital as part of the nationwide No Kings Day protests Saturday against President Donald Trump and his administration, particularly Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). During one portion of the Washington demonstrations, protesters chanted multiple times in favor of defunding or even abolishing the police — despite officers at the same time visibly protecting them.

“I said take it to the streets, abolish the police,” a male protester leading a chant yelled as multiple on-duty law enforcement officers walked with them, video by DCNF investigative reporter Hudson Crozier shows.

“Cops spent hours accompanying the protest and holding off traffic for about a mile, giving them the entire Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge along the way,” Crozier wrote in the post, referring to to the arch bridge crossing the Anacostia River in Washington’s southeast quadrant.

Another video by the DCNF reporter shows a protester leading chants for the capital’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to cut its budget, as uniformed officers observed the marches from behind barricades.

“MPD,” the man yells multiple times, prompting fellow protesters to reply, “Cut that budget!” The protesters then break out into a repeated chant, “ICE go home,” the video shows.

Another photo of the “No Kings” demonstrations obtained by the DCNF shows protesters wearing hats and flags featuring the hammer and sickle, well-known symbols of communism and the Soviet Union.

Another one depicts a message written on the street in sidewalk chalk stating, “Nuremberg trials the sequel starring S. Miller,” likely referring to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, who is Jewish.

Saturday marked the third such day explicitly designated for nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations, following June 14, 2025, and Oct. 18, 2025. While the website of the organization behind the protests purports to oppose authoritarian rule in the U.S., its official partners include multiple groups who have shown support for brutal communist dictatorships abroad.

“Trump wants to rule over us as a tyrant. But this is America, and power belongs to the people – not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies,” the No Kings website states. “America has a long history, rooted in white supremacy, of suppressing the rights of people of color. But our history also clearly shows that people-powered movements are how we end authoritarianism.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson dubbed the “No Kings” protests “Trump derangement therapy sessions,” in comments to multiple outlets.
