News has increasingly become report first, apologize later. As the Editor-in-Chief at CDN, I could not disagree more.

Who wants to read a news story, get all fluffed-up about it, then find out it was inaccurate? No one.

As an editorial rule, actually the first rule in the stack, CDN places “right, not first”. That means we don’t care if we miss a scoop by 30 minutes if we can’t verify the story. That’s the way news used to be. That IS how we do it.

Are we slower? Sometimes, but we are very rarely wrong. “Right, not first” is a governing principle.

I think our long-time readers realize this and that’s why they keep coming back. I hope our newer readers see the same consistency and support us the same way.

Our news is right and sometimes fast, but never fast at the expense of being correct.

Thank you for being a reader. I hope you’ll tell others about our approach.
