New York, NY – Dec. 4… Madison Rising will not skirt the law. The pro-America rock band
wanted to procure a legal permit for a live anti-Occupy Wall Street performance. A full week was spent on a
wild goose chase around New York City where various government agencies were visited in an effort to
pull a legal permit for Madison Rising’s “Take Back Wall Street” concert in Zuccotti Park on Tuesday,
December 6, 2011.
Madison Rising endeavored to celebrate capitalism with a concert and to thank the hard
working women and men of the NYPD, FDNY, and on Wall Street. After finally ending up at Brookfield Office
Properties (owner of Zuccotti Park), Madison Rising was ultimately denied a permit on the day Third Eye Blind
performed to Occupy in Zuccotti Park without a permit.
Madison Rising, a rock band that released its debut album last month, is fueled by an eternal gratitude
and love of our country. “Right now, ignorance and apathy are running wild amongst our citizens. Right now,
we need to get people thinking about issues that really matter. We hope Madison Rising will inspire that,”
said Dave Bray, Lead Vocalist, Military Veteran.
