The leaky Colonial Pipeline is still undergoing repairs as Triangle area motorists feel the brunt of greatly decreased gasoline supply.
By lunchtime Monday, many gas stations in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area of North Carolina were either out of gas completely or only had premium gasoline available.
Any stations that did have regular gas had gas lines harking back to the Carter-era gas crisis.
Colonial is building a bypass line to move gasoline around the leak, but it could be several days before flow is restored. Until then, fuel is coming in at a pace that is unable to keep up with demand.
Greensboro, NC and the triad area are feeling the pain too.
