New York Yankees to Face Houston Astros in What Could be EXPLOSIVE Series

The Houston Astros offense was too much for the Boston Red Sox who had no answer for their hitters and blamed their latest playoff collapse on manager John Farrell who was fired after the 3-1 ALDS loss.

The Astros should be well rested and ready for the resilient New York Yankees who were able to come back from a 2-game deficit to oust the defending A.L. champion Cleveland Indians.

The wild-card Yankees completed their resurgence with a 5-2 win against Cleveland on the road and against star pitcher Corey Kluber on Wednesday to punch their tickets for a shot at the World Series.

Cleveland’s great story, unfortunately, came to an end and their championship hopes delayed for at least another year but the Yankees deserve credit for making a serious run at glory in what many thought would be a rebuilding year.

And this despite rookie phenom Aaron Judge being totally shut down by the Indians pitchers. Judge may have conjured visions of a Baby Bambino in his first full season, but he was 1 for 20 with 16 whiffs in the ALDS.

It’s hard to see how the rookie doesn’t improve on that dismal performance, chalk it up to nerves and the trials and tribulations that a budding superstar has to experience on his way to stardom.

This could be one hell of an entertaining series and it wouldn’t be much of a shock to see at least a few of the final scores resembling football games given the potency of the two lineups.

Game one of the 2017 American League Championship Series will be on Friday at 8 pm ET in Houston’s Minute Maid Park.

This could be one for the ages with the winner going on to face whoever wins the Cubs/Nats game tonight vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Could America be treated to a long-awaited sequel to those classic Yankees-Dodgers series of yore?

We will know in about two weeks.
