Three Republican Congressman called Friday for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is currently investigating unproven claims of collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 election, to recuse himself.
“These deeply troubling events took place when Mr. Mueller was the Director of the FBI. As such, his impartiality is hopelessly compromised,” Gaetz said in a statement. “He must step down immediately.”
The American public and members of Congress have increasingly called for an investigation into the Uranium One deal but believe that Mueller’s current involvement would make a fair inquiry impossible.
Mueller’s recusal is not likely.
