Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips asked young college students which president they believed deserved credit for the red-hot American economy just days after former President Barack Obama made a speech saying that it was all his doing.
“When you hear how great the economy’s doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started,” Obama said in the speech. While working-class families are well-aware of just how long it took for the recovery to get started, it might surprise you to see to whom young college students give the credit.
If you had any doubts, Trump’s chief economic advisor Larry Kudlow said it best when he acknowledged that while Obama saw some decent growth in 2014, he couldn’t keep it going. “President Obama really let an anti-business attitude seep through,” he said. Obama also famously said that manufacturing jobs weren’t coming back and hinted that 1-2% GDP growth was the new normal. President Trump proved him wrong and, apparently, college kids get that too.
