Nike Will Sponsor ‘Queer Youth Field Day’ In Tennessee City

Nike will sponsor a “Queer Youth Field Day” in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday for participants aged 13 to 25, according to an event flyer.

The event is co-hosted by OutMemphis, an LGBTQ+ nonprofit, and is intended for all LGBTQ-identifying “youth” and allies, according to its registration website. Activities are free and include games, bouncy houses, face-painting, tug-of-war, tie-dying and friendship bracelets.

“Queer Youth Field Day may have hit a slight roadblock last year, but we are BACK on the calendar for 2023! Join OUTMemphis and Nike for the re-re-kickoff of Queer Youth Field Day on April 15th from 12-4 PM at Glenview Park,” the description reads. “All LGBTQ+ youth and allies aged 13-25 are invited to a free afternoon of games, music, giveaways, and good weather.”

The event was postponed in 2022 due to a venue problem, according to its website. It is now “BACK and BIGGER than ever,” according to OutMemphis’ Instagram.

Attendees are required to pre-register for the event “ensure the safety and security of the whole group,” according to the event’s Facebook page.

Nike recently came under fire for partnering with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Mulvaney advertised the company’s Zenvy leggings and Alate sports bras in an April 4 Instagram post that identified Mulvaney as a “paid partner.”

“Home for a moment and leaning into cozy workout wear life with @nikewomen‘s newest Zenvy leggings and Alate bra,” Mulvaney wrote. “They’re so comfortable and buttery soft, perfect for workouts and everyday wear!”

Nike and OutMemphis did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
