US CENTCOM Announces Three Service Members Killed In Action, Several Others Injured As Operation Epic Fury Continues

Three American service members have been killed and at least five others were wounded during the beginning of combat operations against Iran, the Pentagon announced Sunday.
President Donald Trump announced the United States military launched Operation Epic Fury in a video posted on Truth Social early Saturday morning. United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported the casualty figures as of 9:30 a.m. EST Sunday.
“As of 9:30 am ET, March 1, three U.S. service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury,” CENTCOM posted. “Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.”
“The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified,” CENTCOM continued.
Iran launched missiles and drones against American and Israeli targets in response to the initial attacks, which killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and at least 40 other senior leadership figures of the theocratic regime.
