Golf: The Scoring Method is Hard to Quit – for the Wrong Reasons

As a golfer, I often try different coaching/learning plans to see if it improves my play. Recently, I tried “The Scoring Method” and found that it didn’t really improve my game as a 16 handicapper. So, I tried to quit it – and that’s the story.

I spent a ton of time trying to contact support (unresponsive), find some hidden button or link somewhere, or otherwise just quit the program. It doesn’t exist – and that’s frustrating. The community doesn’t really seem to care, as they just protect the company that makes it impossible to quit the program – I found it weirdly cultish, actually.

The caustic, almost cultish responses came immediately:

The Scoring Method is not a program I can recommend because it seems designed to trap golfers. The community is abrasive, and support is nonexistent.

Look for anything else.

Update 6/30/26:

After multiple emails to support, this interaction, and an article (not sure which one got it done), the company finally canceled my subscription.

The one-click-to-cancel rule was made just for this kind of thing. If it’s easy to join, it should be easy to leave. This wasn’t.
