I Spent a Painful Afternoon with Jim Acosta and Don Lemon
MSNOW held a memorial service this afternoon on Deadline: White House hosted by Nicolle Wallace. The guests were Jim Acosta and Don Lemon, and you cannot put three more incompetent “news” people on the same screen. The deceased was Scott Pelley, who was fired from 60 Minutes this week. These three exemplify the so-called journalists who believe their job is not to report the news but to give their own version of it. I have tried to watch 60 Minutes over the years because, in my younger years, 60 Minutes was must-see TV on Sunday nights. Those days died years ago. If I turned it on today and saw Scott Pelley featured, I hit the clicker. I have a problem with sports or news people who think they are the story, and not the event they were to report. Scott Pelley was the poster child for this type of journalist. This is a recap of his final moments according to GROK AI.
- The Trigger: On June 1, 2026, during a staff meeting to introduce new executive producer Nick Bilton (a former tech journalist and filmmaker with limited broadcast TV experience, appointed by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss), Pelley openly criticized the changes. He called Bilton’s qualifications “slender,” said Bilton would “never be welcome here,” and accused Weiss of “murdering” 60 Minutes—claiming she was brought in to “kill” the show and was doing exactly that.
- Firing: CBS terminated Pelley “for cause” the next day. In a letter, Bilton cited Pelley’s “performative display of hostility” in front of staff, lack of interest in collaboration, and “antipathy to the future of the show.” He was denied severance.
Of course, Wallace, Acosta, and Lemon were in agreement that Donald Trump was responsible for Pelley’s firing. Apparently, Trump coached Pelley to be insubordinate to his new bosses in a staff meeting. Again, because Pelley thinks he is bigger than life, he no longer needs decorum or to understand the corporate chain of command. They cited the recent firing of Stephen Colbert and the current attacks on Jimmy Kimmel and accused the networks of bending a knee to Trump to build a national news network. They failed to mention declining viewership and bloated expenses for these network shows, and how they are being beaten badly by newcomers to late night, Gregg Gutfeld on FOX News. The network offerings were no longer entertainment, and the guests were 99% left-leaning. The networks have played a huge role in the divide in our country. The public, ignorant for far too long, is waking up. They want the truth and the whole story, not the sanitized version of 60 Minutes or any of the alphabet networks.
Scott Pelley is a pompous ass, and no one on TV is more of a narcissist. He may be Don Lemon’s hero, but that is more insult than compliment. Acosta, Lemon, and Pelley are a good start. Who is next? Every so-called journalist working at one of the legacy networks, MSNOW, or CNN should be on their best behavior. The bosses are just waiting for a reason to cut ties. The next time one gets axed, I’ll leave it to someone else to watch Nicolle in the afternoon.

The 4 Ws in journalism are who?, what?, when?, and where?, and those were the basic requirement for good journalism. Somewhere along the way a 4th W, why?, was inserted and that’s where the opposition media found a voice.
Stop telling me why before the actual facts are known. We don’t want any of your opinions. You are insignificant fleas.
