You Created This Creature, He is Your Guy

He was “Your Guy.” He was the All-American boy, the prototypical dude from Maine who would get up at 4 am to harvest oysters and slay Susan Collins after lunch. He was the guy who pushed Janet Mills and the establishment machine aside and got 70% of the vote in the Maine primary. He was the Democratic Messiah who was going to bring control of the Senate back to Chuck Schumer and the Blue Team. He was the man whom Elizabeth Warren, the matriarch of the Democrats, gleefully, with the shaking of her head, raised his hand and declared him, “My guy.” The only problem was that he, Graham Platner, was a complete fraud and a disgusting example of a human being. Just like COVID-19, Platner was made in a lab, allowed to sneak out, and nobody cared to put him back in the bottle. The only problem is that the clock has struck midnight, and Graham Plantner is none of those things. He is a total fraud.

Plantner suspended his race on Thursday, which means little. He is still in the race, and the suspension allows him to continue operating and collecting donations. What the Party and the country want is for him to look into the camera, say he has withdrawn from the race, and then hide behind a rock so no one will see or remember this colossal Democratic mistake.

One thing to make perfectly clear is that the Party could overlook every allegation thrown at Platner, up to and including rape. But it was the fact that his support was eroding, and his once comfortable lead over Susan Collins was gone. Rape, the Hitler tattoo, anti-Israel beliefs, even the social media comments were fine. Losing the opportunity to take back the Senate could not be tolerated, and he had to go. Just like the former Golden Boy, Erik Swalwell, when you are no longer a winner, you are a cancer to be cut out.

The Democrats have nobody to blame but themselves. They spent $6,000 over two weeks vetting this candidate, and that scrutiny did not uncover the tattoo, the social media gaffes, or the charges by these two women. This is so amateurish on the part of the Democrats and the two people involved made it appear more like a SNL skit than a real political operation at the Federal level.

The other disgusting component of this story is the media and former political supporters trying to compare Platner to Trump, to the point that one said if Platner were running as a Republican, all of this would be fine.

Put a sock in it. You own this guy, and any attempt to tie or compare him to Trump, just makes you look foolish. Trump is not part of this conversation, and Platner has to be allowed to burn on his own.

The Democrats can move on from this, too. This is their mess, and any candidate the Party finds to replace him will be under intense scrutiny. I will write my article and feel comfortable that this will be the last we hear from Graham Platner. I cannot wait to see who the replacement is that the Democrats can ra
