Accusations Without Evidence: Time to Pony Up

The ads and the soundbites have been overflowing with accusations. If you believe the Democrats, every Republican has just a few things on their agenda. First, every negative data point is Donald Trump’s fault. It doesn’t matter whether it is the cost at the pumps or a gallon of milk; it is all Trump’s doing. According to the ad spots, Trump and his administration are the most corrupt individuals to occupy the White House since Richard Nixon. Every Republican is a rubber stamp for Trump, and they are denying you healthcare to give tax breaks to billionaires. They refuse to lower the cost of everyday necessities so they can fund tax breaks. They vote with Trump nearly 90% of the time, while building a huge personal stock portfolio. Accusations fly as easily as their lips part, but there is not a single piece of evidence to back their claims. I realize that the same Freedom of Speech protects these people in the Constitution they despise. But where is the protection for the people these Democrats are spending millions of dollars defaming?

The issue is compounded by two basic facts. People will believe anything the mainstream media says, and the American people are too lazy to investigate what they hear and decide for themselves what is true or false. We’ve also become quick and effective at turning on anyone who points out obvious wrongdoing or corrupt politicians. Look at the people who were at the point of the investigation that blew the top off the massive fraud cases in Minnesota, Maine, and California. Nick Shirley was condemned in Minnesota for being a racist and suffering from Islamophobia. Steve Robinson and his Maine Wire faced the same accusations in Maine, and his reporters were denied entry to many government press briefings. Authorities broke the law to stop independent news outlets from reporting on major news stories. California passed Assembly Bill 2624 (officially the “Safe at Work Act” / “Privacy for immigration support services providers”), which critics, including Republican Assemblyman Carl DeMaio, nicknamed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act.” Quite a conundrum, and certainly not in the spirit of the First Amendment.

The only recourse is to defeat the people making the claims and the government officials who are in charge of the states that are having such a negative backlash against the people who are doing their jobs and speaking and writing the truth. This election is about so much more than the individual candidates. It is about our individual freedoms and the course of the country. It is about whether any of the gains of the last two years will be wiped out with the stroke of a pen, or codified into law. It is about whether Trump is allowed to perform his duties as President for the remainder of his term or whether he will be a defendant in court or fighting off impeachment. We cannot allow America to reverse course, and the radicals, Socialists, and Communists must be beaten. It will take your vote to do that.

Author’s Note: Graphics created by Grok AI. Grok’s comments about the images: I chose an empty evidence table under a bright spotlight in a grand chamber because the column’s core charge is that the accusations are loud, constant, and completely unsupported. The floating blank pages represent the flood of claims—corruption, rubber stamps, healthcare denial—that never land with a single document or fact. The pointing figures stay in silhouette so the focus stays on the absence of proof rather than on any individual face. Brighter midtones and rim light keep the marble, the empty surface, and the swirling papers readable and intense, matching the demand to pony up before the election decides whether those claims are allowed to stand unanswered.
