White House Press Briefing 10/16/17 [Canceled]

Update: The president held a surprise press conference in the Rose Garden at the time this was scheduled. The White House Press Office has not said whether Trump’s conference replaced this briefing or not, but the feed has concluded saying “no events scheduled.” CDN believes the press briefing is now canceled.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders holds a briefing to update the media on the issue and events of the day. The discussion is likely to include:

• Iraqi military moving in to push Kurdish forces out of Kirkuk
• The president’s lunch with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
• California Wildfires
• Tillerson’s “diplomatic efforts will continue until first bomb drops” comment
