No, Trump Did Not Call Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists ‘Very Fine People’ … In a news conference after the rally protesting the planned removal of a Confederate statue, Trump [said] there were “very fine people on both sides,” referring to the protesters and the counter-protesters. He said in the same statement he wasn’t talking about neo-Nazis and white nationalists, who he said should be “condemned totally.”

It was with some surprise that the left-leaning “fact checker” Snopes has just admitted that Trump did not call the Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists (at the 2017 Charlottesville protest) “very fine people”. Snopes finally figured this out some 7 years later when that fraction of us who can read at the 9th grade level or above understood this immediately at the time. It is quite simple. Assuming one can make elementary distinctions, Trump was praising the people who came to Charlottesville to protest the removal of the confederate statues, not the Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists who came to the protest to exploit the situation. Indeed, Snopes, finally having figured it out, now states that Trump explicitly said he was not talking about neo-Nazis and White supremacists and said they should be “condemned totally.”
Why was it so hard to get this simple matter, like so many others, right? Can today’s “journalists” even read? Do they even want to?
This is important because Joe Biden had claimed that Trump’s support of Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists at that Charlottesville protest was his main reason for running for president in 2020. When Biden released his 2020 campaign video his first words were “Charlottesville, Virginia”, followed by the claim that:
“The President of the United States [Trump] assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it. And in that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I’d ever seen in my lifetime.“
In other words, Biden’s main rationale for running for president in 2020 was based on a lie, or, since Biden may not, on any given occasion, actually know what he is saying or where he is going, it is, at least, a flat-out untruth. One important feature of this Biden lie (or untruth) is that it served to further divide the nation along the lines of race, which happens to be the Democrat Party speciality.
What passes for our “news” media, including the New York Times, the Washington Post and PBS and CNN and MSNBC and Time Magazine and the Atlantic and Vox and what remains of the BBC and alleged “fact checker” Politico and many others have gleefully run with this Charlottesville “untruth” for 7 years in support of their political agenda, thereby doing great damage to the national fabric. The Independent reported:
“We live in a nation where our leader, President Donald J. Trump, refuses to call these torch-wielding, confederate-idolizing, un-American people what I firmly believe they are: white domestic terrorists. As a black, queer, Jewish woman, it terrifies me that President Trump can’t stand up against that.“
Actually, no reason to be terrified. That was all “fake news.” As the Snopes article points out, Trump explicitly distinguishes the “good people” on both sides from the neo-Nazis and white nationalists, which latter he said should be “condemned totally.”
PBS even manages to blame Trump’s alleged remarks at Charlottesville for the Jan. 6th Capitol “insurrection” (which also never happened). Since, as Snopes has suddenly grasped, Trump did not make those racist remarks at Charlottesville in 2017, they could not have caused what happened on Jan. 6th 2021, unless, of course, PBS has discovered some new metaphysical principle that non-existent entities can cause events in the real world (as opposed to the fabricated world of media “news”). The Metaphysical Society is eagerly awaiting notification.
Time Magazine was thrilled to report that 56% of adults disapproved of Trump’s response to Charlottesville while only 28% approved, although it is now clear that this is because what masquerades for our “news” media, including Time Magazine itself, misreported his remarks (the media’s mission to smear Trump accomplished).
Naturally, Biden, the Democrats and what remains of our “news” media, will, given their high standards of integrity, apologise to Trump, the Republicans and the American people for their longstanding promotion of this divisive “untruth”. Perhaps Biden, given his alleged great integrity, can do it first thing in the debate on June 27th in order to take his first step towards bringing the country together rather than, as usual, dividing it! “Donald, I do want to apologize for one thing …”
The Charlottesville hoax was not, of course, the only way the voters were played by the Democrat “News”-media Colluders in 2020. True stories that would have hurt Biden’s chances, e.g., the true Hunter Biden laptop story, were censored while false stories about Trump, e.g., Trump admitted to gabbing women by the p***y, that Trump called the Coronavirus a hoax, that Trump told people to inject bleach to kill the Coronavirus, etc., etc., etc., were repeated endlessly (and still repeated today). A month before the election 51 former intelligence officials stated, falsely, that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation. They actually tried the Russia hoax again? Are they going to use the Russia hoax again in 2024 or will they use a new country to “Get Trump”? Perhaps China? And, of course, there was the ruse that Joe Biden is a “moderate” that would initiate a return to normalcy after the allegedly chaotic (actually orderly) Trump years. Unfortunately, our betters on the Left did not bother to explain to the rabble that what they meant by “moderate” and “normalcy” is that Biden would open the borders to ten million illegals, some of whom would go on to rape and kill American citizens, that the peasants, but not Obama’s Venezuelan-free elites on Martha’s Vinyard, would have to accommodate, that Biden would spend the nation into the highest inflation in 40 years, that the Biden administration would side with criminals against citizens, that Biden would preside over many new wars all over the globe, that Russian warships, including a nuclear powered submarine, would be docking in Cuba, etc., etc., etc. It is the Biden administration that has been chaotic.
In fact, the peasants were played in multiple devious ways in 2020 and will be again in 2024. One can only wonder how the Left will deceive the American people this cycle.
One question remains: why Snopes, after all these years, finally manage to understand Trump’s straightforward remarks about the Charlottesville protests? Why now?
One can only speculate, but perhaps people, even on the Left, have finally noticed the record number of dead people, including many children, at Biden’s southern border, the rampant crime in the streets that has Democrats afraid to go to the grocery store, the new aggressiveness by American’s enemies, Russia, China, North Korea, Iran—in brief, Bill Barr’s reasons for saying that another Biden term would be “national suicide”. Whatever the reason, one can only hope that enough have realized that 3.5 years of the Biden administration have demonstrated that the usual propaganda games by the Democrat-media Colluders are just too dangerous now.
