President Trump’s Has Kept His Promises In His First 100 Days

https://dailycaller.com/

Almost ten months ago, I spoke onstage at the Republican National Convention, ringing in the nomination of President Donald Trump as our party’s nominee.

I emphasized that, in President Trump’s first term, we had a leader who brought us the strongest economy in history, energy dominance, stable prices, secure borders, safe streets, and strong families and communities. We had a leader who understood the importance of protecting both the lives and livelihoods of his country’s citizens. And we had a leader who appreciated and celebrated just how exceptional the United States of America truly is.

Now, President Trump is back, and in his first 100 days in his second term, he has delivered once again. The American people returned him to the White House — and gave the Republican Party majorities in both chambers of Congress — because they had enough of the previous administration’s failures.

For four years, millions of illegal aliens — including violent criminals — poured across our southern border unchecked. Far too many preventable tragedies occurred because our leaders looked away; far too many Americans, many of them young and with so many years ahead of them, lost their lives to heinous acts committed by criminals who broke the law and came into our country.

The Laken Riley Act, named for the young woman whose life was taken by an illegal alien who had already been arrested multiple times in the U.S., stalled in the Senate before Republicans took the majority. Once the 119th Congress began, with President Trump back in the Oval Office, we passed this legislation, and it was quickly signed into law.

Now, illegal aliens who commit theft-related offenses, assault a police officer, or perpetrate crimes resulting in death or serious bodily injury will be subject to mandatory detention. President Trump did not stop at just signing the Laken Riley Act. He has singlehandedly driven down illegal border crossings to levels unprecedented in recent history. Our Border Patrol officers have encountered 94 percent fewer migrants than they did in February of last year and 96 percent fewer than the all-time high reached during the Biden-Harris administration.

Securing the border is not the only area where President Trump is reversing the mistakes of the past four years and building on the successes in his first term.

The Biden-Harris administration’s Environmental Protection Agency mistook protecting the environment for punishing productivity. It issued regulations that would have put gas-powered car companies out of business and forced oil and gas facilities to close. Immediately after taking office, President Trump cut the unnecessary red tape the Biden-Harris administration imposed on Americans and began charting a course toward renewing energy dominance.

President Trump — unlike his predecessor — has also moved swiftly to assert American power abroad. While the Biden-Harris administration emboldened our country’s adversaries and allowed the Houthis to wreak havoc in the Red Sea, President Trump took decisive action against the terrorist organization and eliminated several of its key leaders. He sent the message that the U.S. will not accept malign actors attacking its ships and will not allow terrorists to throw global shipping and trade into disarray. He understands that groups like the Houthis and rogue regimes like the Islamic Republic of Iran respond only to strength. A strong national defense is an arrow in the American quiver, and President Trump is unafraid to let the arrows fly when necessary.

Just as the U.S. must act to protect ourselves from terrorists abroad, we must prevent our own soil from becoming a breeding ground for supporters of terrorism. President Trump and his administration have acted to remove from the country those who lied on their green card applications or violated the terms of their visas from our country.

While the previous administration gave the benefit of the doubt to the radicals calling for violence against Jewish students and Americans writ large, President Trump understands that entry into the U.S. is a privilege, not a right. It is simply common sense that we must not allow those supporting designated terrorist organizations to remain within our borders, and once again, President Trump has turned that common sense into reality.

In a dangerous world, we can never be too sure that our supply chains are secure and our workers can produce what we may need in a crisis — and earn a living doing it. President Trump has moved to onshore vital industries and is working to ensure not only the economic prosperity of our citizens and country but also our military’s preparedness for whatever comes our way.

These promises are exactly what President Trump ran on in 2024, and it’s exactly why the American people chose to bring him back for a second term. He promised to slash unnecessary red tape, take threats both domestic and foreign seriously, and usher in a new era of American dominance across the board.

Promises made, promises kept extends far beyond the first 100 days. This is just the beginning of what President Trump will accomplish over the next four years.
