It is Frightening to Think of How Close This Guy Was to VP

Tim Walz should have stayed in the shadows. You heard very little about Tim during his 6 terms in the House of Representatives, primarily because of his lack of effectiveness. He sponsored one significant bill involving better care and suicide prevention for veterans, which was signed into law by Barack Obama in 2015. He became the Governor of Minnesota in 2019. Again, Walz maintained a very low profile until he was the surprise pick to run with Kamala Harris against Donald Trump in 2024. The negativity surrounding Walz, both personally and politically, indicates that he should have stayed in the shadows. His military and high school coaching careers both came under scrutiny and showed significant variances in his narrative. In other words, Walz had embellished himself to be more attractive as a candidate, which he got away with until he hit the big time. Questions on the campaign trail were less about his qualifications to be Vice President and whether he could assume the office of President if needed, and more about his character and what Harris was thinking when she selected him as her running mate.

Walz did not improve his stature on the national scene, and his candidacy at times was more meme than campaign. He tried in vain to appeal to male voters, but his very awkward ads depicting him as a home mechanic and hunter were about as effective as Elizabeth Warren as a beer-drinking buddy. After the election, the slow drip of scandal began to surface, and when YouTube reporter Nick Shirley landed in Minnesota, Tim Walz’s days as a politician may have come to an end. With each new piece of evidence and each denial from Walz, Mayor Frey of Minneapolis, Representative Omar, and Attorney General Ellison, it became increasingly clear that these politicians were as guilty as sin. There is no explanation as to why Ellison is still in office and not in jail after the audio tape release of him convincing the Somali community that he could protect them, and they should contribute to his campaign.

These 4 people represent everything that is wrong with politicians and their insatiable quest for power and money. Walz has announced he will not seek reelection, citing the need to stop Donald Trump’s agenda and ICE’s practices in the State of Minnesota. I think his decision is also based on the increased scrutiny of him to be the fall guy for the corrupt political climate in Minnesota. The fact that Minneapolis is the epicenter for billions of dollars of fraud points to incompetence, if not culpability, with the politicians of Minnesota, from the city to the federal level. It will be disheartening and very discouraging if we do not see these four and probably more indicted as part of the federal probe on fraud headed up by Vice President JD Vance. This is not a political witch hunt but a case of right, wrong, and political corruption.

And finally, as if Walz had not done enough to tarnish his perception as a human being, he spent this past Monday, Memorial Day, not remembering our brave warriors who have preserved our freedoms, but rather went to Minneapolis and celebrated the life of George Floyd, the man whose death brought about the famous Summer of Love and the destruction of much of downtown Minneapolis. Shame on him for his indiscretions and total lack of judgment, and may he pay the price for his crimes.
