I am insulted and disgusted when I hear Sharpton or any other so-called civil rights warriors say that we have never reconciled our dependence on slavery, and he may have shown this week that he may have reached the bottom of the well on this story. Donald Trump is hosting a night of UFC events at the White House as part of the America 250 Celebration. Sharpton claims that this event is evidence of America wanting to resurrect its desire for slavery. No network should have given Sharpton any airtime to defend his claim unless they were presenting it as a satire. This is purely a cry for attention by Reverend Al. Al Sharpton is like a firefighter working nights as an arsonist, so he will have work to do. This got very old a long time ago. Maybe he would like to protest Big Boy No 4014, the biggest and most famous steam engine in history, coming East for the first time on tracks built by Chinese immigrants. We have to make him stop.
Racism is like Climate Warming. If you keep repeating the story, many will believe it. America is the first country in history to take action to end slavery. We lost as many as 800,000 during the Civil War to end the “owning” of Blacks. Our reparations have been paid. Let’s look at some facts and numbers.
- Would a racist country elect a Black President not once, but twice, along with a Black, Female Vice President?
- There are a record 139 people of color in Congress. Does that happen in a racist country?
- There are 1.8-2 million people of color who are millionaires. Not bad for a racist country.
- 10 Fortune 500 companies have Black CEOs. Not bad!
- 10% of the officers in our incredible military are Black. Enough said?
Blacks have made tremendous progress and no longer need special consideration in work, education, or any other area, just like the LGBTQ community, which is also treated equally with any other group. It is time to end the month-long celebrations for both, and let’s stop singling out any group in any manner.
For closing, Al Sharpton makes nearly $2 million a year from MSNOW and NAN. His ratings at MSNOW have plummeted over the years, but he will never be cut because of the bad publicity the separation would create. He is using his color to secure his job. Now that is racism.
