If Not For FOX, We May Not Know About Bias
FOX News celebrated its 30th anniversary. That is quite a milestone for this much-maligned news organization. There are many reasons for this angst, or maybe it is jealousy, because this network is consistently on top of the monthly ratings, and it exposes the liberal bias of every other left-leaning network. One could argue that if not for FOX, would viewers know there is a liberal slant, or would they simply believe the info they are being fed?
Everybody has a bias, because everyone has an opinion, but in the news business, there is opinion, and there is fact, and the two should never be blurred. In the case of the mainstream media, the bias is obvious and complicit. They are an arm of the Democratic Party, and the agenda always wins out over fact. FOX has given viewers a choice, and the numbers do not lie. On most days, FOX has more viewers than MSNOW and CNN combined. FOX has the most #1 shows in all the key time slots. Even Gutfeld, a mix of humor, news, and opinion, beats the networks’ late-night shows. Think about how the major events of the last 15 years or so would have been perceived completely differently without FOX. Hilary Clinton’s destruction of key info on her home server, the Benghazi raid, the Hunter Biden Laptop, and Joe Biden’s ghost presidency and the Auto-pen fiasco all would have been glossed over to the benefit of the Democrats.
The FOX News story has been a truly American success story—a major News network built from the ground up, against conventional thinking. But FOX has been different. They came into our homes with camaraderie and personality, and they became part of the family. They are a group that feeds off and supports each other, which is why you see AM personalities as guests on PM shows and vice versa. We saw a show that was to be a five-week filler become an afternoon phenomenon. The Five has been on the air for 15 years and has been consistently the #1 show in its slot, drawing as many as 5 million viewers. In many quarters, it has been the highest-rated cable show.
FOX is unapologetically conservative, but it knows the difference between news and opinion programming. Most FOX opinion shows, like Outnumbered and The Five, have liberal contributors on most episodes. Regardless of the source, you have to do your homework, especially with the disinformation on sites like Facebook, Instagram, and X. Most Americans get their info from these sites alone, which explains how we can be the most technologically advanced and ignorant at the same time.
Author’s Note: Grok AI created the graphics. Grok’s comments about the images: In this landscape editorial header, a towering broadcast complex pulses with intense golden and fox-red light, its beams slicing cleanly through thick gray fog that cloaks shadowy, distorted forms of competing networks. The brightness lifts every metallic edge and glass plane so the clarity of the signal stands out against the murk. It is a visual for the column’s core claim: without FOX, the fog of liberal media bias might have gone unchallenged. The light is not soft or neutral; it is deliberate, warm, and strong enough to reveal what the surrounding haze prefers to hide.
